Every Shot Counts During Every Round

I do not know about you, but I believe that every shot is important during all my rounds of golf. At any given time, on shot can turn your great round into a good round, into an average round, into a poor round. It really depends on how poorly we actually hit a ball. This happened to me during my last round where two bad swings resulted in a three over par round. Just two poor swings!

On swing was a poor tee shot into a hazard. I had to take a drop and continue playing. The second poor shot was a complete misread on distance and I over shot the green on the fly. As a result, I added 3 extra strokes to my score that could have been avoidable (in my opinion). It happens, but it really do not like seeing happen…..ever!

There as a brighter side to my game to counter they two poor swings. I was really grinding well yesterday because I had 8 one putts with only one birdie. That means I got up and down for par 7 times. Interestingly, I made 4 of those par puts from 6 feet. I was really happy with the scramble side of my game and as a result I was able to keep my great round going despite the two mishaps.

This post might seem like I am complaining, but I am not. I am trying to emphasize that every stroke counts in a round of golf. I have to stay focused for the entire 18 holes. I need to work my successful processes on every swing. If I can do that, then a sub par round and a lower handicap index is in my future.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

  1. Every shot counts. I like that thinking a whole lot better than finding myself having to think 3 bad shots and one great shot can still be a par. 😂
