Last night my friend Charlie and I hit the links to play some twilight golf at the Mattawa Golf and Ski Resort. There were very few people on the course and we were able to get in 11 holes. We were using our hickory sticks to add to the fun. As darkness slowly descended upon us we notice a couple of things that made our experience more enjoyable. The Northern Hickory Tour at Laurentide Golf Course
The second official round of the Northern Hickory Tour took place a week ago at the Laurentide Golf Course in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada. This is a fun track and was worth the time we spent playing with our hickory sticks. We had 11 players and mixed up our playing partners to ensure everyone played with everyone over the course of the tour. Overall it was a fantastic day and I played my best round ever with my hickory sticks and I am excited to hit the links again very soon.

Interestingly, and the reason for my blog, the conditions at Osprey Links is completely different than that of my home course; Mattawa Golf and Ski Resort. What an adventure is all I have to say!

Every year about this time many golfers in northern climes prepare for a short golf season that lasts between six and seven months. During this preparation, many players go through a well practiced routine that enables them to hit the links ready, able and willing to loop the links. Right now we are still in the single digits for temperatures, but a few layers and I will be ready to play. There is so much to look forward too that helps build my anticipation for playing my most favourite sport.
