Opening And Closing The Golf Door

Over the past three weeks my golf game has improved to a point where I feel I am hitting my mid season stride. I have about 20 rounds under my belt and many of those loops were wrought with inconsistent hitting. Yesterday, I played an early morning round (0700 hrs) that resulted accentuate my positive play as of late. I shot a 2 birdies, four bogeys and 12 pars. Of the four bogeys, I made three poor shots that resulted in two penalty strokes. So, I am happy with my play as of late and feel that shooting under par is not out the realm of possibilities during my 2022 season.

How To Successfully Change Your Golf Game

How to successfully change our golf game is the pursuit of all golfers. There is little question that if you are bitten by the golf bug, seeking any advantage (legally of course) is at the forefront of your mind when on the links. I know that after many years of playing, I have found only one constant that will successfully and without fail improve our golf game. This lesson is demonstrated to me over and over again, but to maximize my success we will need to temper and mange this one aspect of our game. It is the simplest and most difficult skill to develop. Three Bad Shots Cost Me Shooting Under Par

During my great round yesterday, After the first eight holes I felt I had a solid chance to shoot under par. This milestone is the golden ticket for me and I cruising towards success. I was hitting the ball very well, my chips were solid and my putting was smooth. It appeared that the stars had aligned and an under par score was in my grasp. That is until I hit three poor shots that cost my four strokes. Let me lament!

Forgetting How To Play Golf

There is an expectation that every low single digit handicap golfers hit pure shots….most of the time. The processes are very easy for onlookers because of the mystique of shooting lower golf scores. Well, I am here to set the stage straight! Not every low shooting golfer hits pure irons all the time or even a vast majority of the time. From time to time, we forget how to play golf and make ridiculous shots that would embarrass a first time player. It is the nature of the beast and I believe I experienced this first hand during my last round.

As I watch the games during ‘March Madness’, I am often struck at how one shot seems to change the momentum of a game. I know from my years of competing in various sports that one shot sometimes makes a tremendous difference in the outcome of a game. And, I bet you are wondering if one shot makes a difference in golf. I would suggest that it does; actually one shot could turn the tide of your entire round.
