Yesterday, I decided just to play golf. I have practiced a fair bit this week and now it was time to put it to the test. I went to the Mattawa Golf and Ski Resort for a quick nine holes with the intent of playing alone. Fortunately, I met up with Logan and we decided to play nine holes together. I was going to play the reds (2557 yards) but move back to the whites (3039 yards) to play with Logan. So we teed it up to see what would happen.

A Solid Practice Day With My Hickory Sticks
With only three days to go before the Golf Historical Society Of Canada hosts the 2024 Ontario Open Hickory Golf Championship at Whirlpool Golf Course, I am happy to say that I am prepared. I will hit the links at least once more (likely today) for I make the trek down south and I could not be happier with my preparation to date. And yesterday was my best day so far!

Today, I practiced my short game for about an hour. It was very rewarding and I found out a few things about my hickory clubs. It is not really profound, but it is something I needed to determine before my tournament next week. I did determine what clubs to use when and how they respond to contact. Interestingly, I noticed that my hickory sticks need cleaning and I am all over that requirement. In the meantime, I found out other things that will be valuable moving forward.

I have a week to prepare for a fun event and I think I have a game plan that will work. I am not expecting anything fantastic with respect to scoring, but I do hope that I can make a great showing at the hickory championship next week. Knowing this, I figured out what I must do this week and we shall see if my plan works.
