Starting Strong Then Slowing Down In A Three Person Golf Scramble

We had a plan; we had a course of action; we were all in ready to shoot a low score! Well, as we always say: “The first causality of contact is always the plan! And yesterday’s round definitely followed suit. The course was in great shape and the weather was overcast and warm. The wind was light, so overall the playing conditions were perfect for the 3-person scramble. Blair, Rick and I felt that everything was in place to score well and maybe compete for some prizes. Sometimes Golf Is Very Frustrating

Yesterday’s round has to fall into the category of frustrating. Part of the reason was that I played mediocre and the rest was purely the pace of play. Playing Golf With Friends!

Is there anything better than playing golf with friends; especially friends that we do not see often. Two days ago, I had the opportunity to reconnect with Andre and Serge. I met Andre through Serge a few years back and since then we have stayed connected through our golfing passion. Serge is a great friend from work and travels to North Bay from time to time, but this is the first time since COVID started that we had a chance to play. To round off out group, Blair joined us and he was a perfect fit to round out our foursome. Once we hit the first tee, Andre suggested that we play a game; the gauntlet was thrown; and Blair and I happily agreed!

Course Management: Picking The Proper Aim Line

If you research course management, most topics will discuss hitting to a distance and avoiding hazards. In most cases, course management is all about what you leave for your next shot. Of course, I subscribe to these concepts of course management, but I think there are other important aspects such as picking the proper aim line. Why is this important you may ask, well that is a great question and worth further analysis.
