Inspired to Improve My 3 Foot Space

Every once in a while, something catches my attention and makes me stop what I am doing. It is not always profound, nor is it all-encompassing. It happens in a moment and I become very mindful of how grateful I am for the awesome things in my life. I could make a very long and detailed list, but in reality these things are only important to me.

Being Monday, I thought I would start your day off with a pat on the back and smile. So here it goes! Continue reading

What Causes Your Downfall on the Golf Course?

DSCF4739

Hitting from the cabbage!

As amateur golfers it does not take much to change our golf game. I guess the same is for the professionals, but I would suggest they are better equipped to avoid those defining moments. It does not take much in some cases to change our attitude, confidence or comfort from good too bad. Likely the opposite is true, but I find fall into the abyss is easier than climbing out.

Understanding our swing mechanics is helps redefine out focus if things are heading south, yet I believe it is not the real challenge. Generally, our swing mechanics remain constant throughout a round of golf. Of course, the better the golfer, the more consistent. But overall, focusing on swing mechanics is a rabbit hole that does not prevent the slide in the wrong direction. Continue reading

Share your experiences as a grateful golfer!

From time to time, I like to post reasons why I am a grateful golfer. It is not to brag about my great life, but to remind myself about the wonderful aspects of my journey to be a scratch golfer.

My golf journey is reflective of my general attitude towards life; being grateful and trying to remain positive during my daily adventures. There is no magic formula, but a conscious choice to approach life in an upbeat manner. To follow that path, I have decided to create a new page about what it means to be a grateful golfer. This is where you come in!

A Glorious Day on The Golf Course

Grateful GolferWhat a fantastic day on the golf course! After 5 months, the day finally arrived where I could stop talking about golf and actually, well, you know…..GOLF! My first round of golf was at the Roundel Glen  Golf Course at Astra, Ontario. The course is in awesome shape and experienced very little damage from the winter.

Before anyone asks, I will be posting my promised blog about building a support team for your golf play tomorrow. Today was so much fun, I just had to talk about it. Now on with today’s round. Continue reading

Keeping The Streak Alive in Golf

Lost and Confused SignpostWell Grateful Golfers, I am at a loss. I currently have 12 rounds in a row in the 70s. Normally I have a streak similar to this one each year, but never for this long. My game feels comfortable and I am confident that I can keep it going, but mentally, I am in new territory!

Mentally, I plan to prepare the way I have through to date using imagery and maintaining a positive attitude. I need to keep negative thoughts from creeping into the six inches of real estate between my ears.

So, I am asking for advice. What do you suggest I do to keep my streak of low scores going? Do you have any special techniques or drills you use?

If so, I want to hear what you have to say!

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
