There are so many tips to improve our golf swing it is hard to pick just one. The suggestions here at the Grateful Golfer is designed to offer help to amateurs hoping to improve their game. Putting Pre-Shot Routine

If you do not have a pre-shot routine, I strongly recommend that you develop one sooner than later. It is a technique used by every professional golfer, although they vary greatly, to ensure they are prepared to hit their next golf shot. More importantly, developing a pre-shot routine for putting is the most important skill you will create in order to reduce the most strokes. Personally, I have used the same basic pre-shot routine for most of my golfing career and I think it works very well. It has saved me many strokes over the years compared to lost strokes. And I think you can as well.

Waiting For Your Golf Shot

Golf is a game that should be played a comfortable pace. For many players, 4 hours seems appropriate for 18 holes. This is not a set rule or anything (at least at most courses) however, there are many times we find ourselves press up behind the group in front…..waiting. The delay our game can have many different affects to the outcome. Many players start letting their mind wander or focus on the frustration of having to wait. Over the years, I have encountered both and neither produce the results I wanted at the end of the round. Waiting can be challenge, however it is part of the game that all players must learn to turn to their advantage. Great advice, right? But how do we do this?

Loosening Up Your Core To Play Better Golf

If you do not loosen up your body before playing golf there is a chance that you will not feel comfortable over the ball for 3 or 4 holes. This is definitely the case for my game when I am running late and arrive at the course just a few minutes before teeing off. Even when I am early enough to loosen up my muscles, I sometimes go through the motion and really forget which muscles need to be activated before hitting my golf ball. My half effort of limbering up does cause challenges and can easily be rectified. Additionally, when stretching I sometimes forget to engage my core and lower half of my body which again causes challenges when playing the first few holes of my round. Short of focusing better, I found a video that will help improve my pre-game routine.
