We all know that putting comes and goes throughout the golf season. There are times when I could not sink my ball in a hole the size of a garbage can lid 3 feet in front of me. And then there are times, like now, when I seem to sink almost everything from anywhere on the green. I especially like these times.

Lag Putting is an Important Golf Skill
I do not intentionally lag putt often. I believe that trying to sink every putt is important to my game because it keeps me aggressive. It is this continue effort to push my limits that helps me to shoot low golf scores. There are risks of course, but with no risk is very little reward. Having said this, I recently read an article that eluded that lag putting is an important skill that all players should master. After some thought, I would have to agree with the article.

Majority Of Golfers Start Their Warm Up With A….?
If you have 30 minutes to warm up and prepare for your round, what club do you start with to ensure you use this valuable time properly. Do you grab the big dog and let it eat? Or use the flat stick to refine your shoulder movements so you are ready to those pressure putts? Regardless of the club you use, the greatest number of players seem to be like minded and start their warm-up in the same manner. Unfortunately, I am not in the majority on this issue.

My main objective this year is to shoot every round under 80. With any luck I will shoot a few rounds in the 60s as well. Of course, this is my ultimate goal and the reality of the matter is it likely will be tough to accomplish. But I figure there is no reason why I cannot set the goal and try to achieve it. It has worked in the past for other goals, so why not this one.
