US Open: Day 1

The first round of the US Open was full of surprises. The leaderboard is a list of whose who with the top names in golf shining in the warm Wisconsin sun. Wait, no that’s not it! Except for Rickie Fowler, the leaderboard looks exactly like any other tournament during the regular season. Given all the hype of the US Open, should we really be surprised? The more I think about it, the more I realize that the US Open is emblematic of how professional golf is changing.

The Masters – Moving Day

The Masters never disappoints. After an amazing minus 7 start, Charley Hoffman appeared mortal on Day 2. The 2016 Ryder Cup – Day 1

What an exciting first day! The US team came out on fire in the morning and the European team quickly responded in the afternoon. With at 5 to 3 lead, the US team is poised to extend their lead today. However, I am not convinced it will be that early.

The first day had some controversy and plenty of great play. If you believe everything read or heard then more unconventional excitement will be delivered during the Saturday foursomes and four ball. Continue reading
