Finding the proper tempo for our game is a bit of a challenge. After researching this topic for a bit, many instructors offer tips on how to develop a tempo to improve our overall golf sing. There are many ways to acquire a mantra to create tempo, but it is important to understand that this skill is unique to each player. What I am gleaning is that a saying or mantra helps to remove any jerky movements associated with a poor tempo. ‘Must Know’ Golf Swing Knowledge

The quantity of golf knowledge an amateur should know is overwhelming. It seems that every time I look for topics to write about, I find more things I do not know about my golf swing. It is crazy to think that after 45+ years of playing golf I still feel like a ‘newbie’ with a club in my hands. I stumbled across a video that unpacks a great deal of information about rhythm, tempo, and speed. I knew most of this information, but seeing it all together, I realized that turning it into knowledge still requires some work.

Timing and Tempo Of a Golf Swing

The challenge for many amateurs is to figure out the what’s and how’s of their golf swing. There is so much information floating around in the golf biosphere, it is difficult to ascertain what advice would best fit our game. The general understanding of terms is helpful, but knowing what they really mean is more important. I have worked on my game for 45+ years in the hopes that I find that perfect golf swing for my physical abilities. Low in behold, I was focused on the wrong area, but happen to fall into a swing that works. I am grateful I was able to reach a point where I am comfortable with my swing tempo and timing. Understanding why the what’s and how’s of my swing mechanics, now, will be helpful moving forward.

Many amateurs have different swing types and tempos. Depending on which club they use, the approach their golf shot in different manners. The topic of tempo is always something that is difficult to explain because it is different for each player.
