A Golf Vacation Without Leaving Home

It is the time of year when most golfers are planning or dreaming of going on a golf vacation. I am one of those golfers, yet here I sit at home in the freezing cold dreaming of hitting the links. Well, I only have 96 days to go before opening day at Osprey Links Golf Course. Since I am not heading south for a few weeks, what is a golfer to do?

This is a question I ask myself every year. However, this year will be different. I have training aids, a chipping spot, a driving net, and a heated area to use them all. Therefore, this year my winter golf vacation will happen at home. Yup, in the cold snowy north, I shall stay and prepare my game for the start of the season.

Even Windsor was giving me a ‘what the heck’ look as we went for our walk!

On a side note, the temperature changed from yesterday to today by 30° Celsius. For my American friends that is 54° Fahrenheit. Yup, that is even crazy swings for us. However, it cannot stop us Canucks from enjoying what we love to do.

Therefore, my golfing vacation starts today and I will do something golf for the next two weeks without fail. I will make a point of swinging something, pretending to play a round of golf and of course relax and revel in the fact that I am doing something golf.

Finally, I will have pictures and details of my hitting area in my garage. I will do this by no later than Monday. I have a few things scheduled for the next few days, so I need a bit of time to make it happen. Additionally, I will show you my training aid area in my basement. It might give some of you an idea on where to set up your practice area.

Well, it is really warm (relatively speaking) today, so I am off to do something outside. I hope you have an awesome day.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
