365 Reasons To Talk Golf

After another stint of 365 straight articles, one would think that I would have a diminished interest to talk about golf. I am happy to say that this is not the case and with the New Year just around the corner, I usually gear up of another run towards the start of my golf season. Yup, it is time to focus on the important aspect of my golf training and writing about golf keeps the fires of my golf desire stoked. Having said all that, what does it really mean?

Life Lessons: Unwritten Goals Are Merely Wishes

What all my writing really does is helps me walk the walk. You know, that hoping something different happens without writing it down accomplishes nothing. Just like the old saying – see image left 😉

Over the next few weeks, it will be time to articulate my plan for the 2021 golf season, my plan to prepare for said season, and how mentally I will prepare for practice and games. All of this is accomplished through The Grateful Golfer and you are the lucky reader to experience all of this with me (as he says with tongue in cheek). Just to be clear, all of this starts on January 1st. It is always my start time to make the new path in my journey to scratch.

As my daily writings from the past year articulated, 2020 was a great golf year for me. I was able to make improvements (albeit small) in many areas of my game and I plan to build on those successes. I do not believe any major changes are required, but I do need to find a way to gain about 10 yards on average off the tee. I think that minor distance improvement will create a domino effect throughout the rest of my game. I am not asking for 20 or 30 yards (although I would definitely that), but just a miniscule increase in my average distance. I believe that is achievable and will use this goal as my focal point moving forward. Exactly how I am going to to this is yet to be determined, but at least I have chosen a path. The first step to any journey is always a decision to move; so I can check that box.

Now that I have 365 reasons to talk golf, I will try to match that this year. It is a reasonable goal and as I stated earlier, it keeps my golf passion stoked.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

  1. I look forward to your 2021 articles. How many rounds were you able to play in 2020? By the time this week is over I will have 192 (one of the benefits of living in Arizona).
