There is zero chance of doing anything outside that is golf related in the winter! We are entering a cold snap where temperatures at night are expected to reach the mid to high 20s…..below zero. This morning when I rolled out of be it was a brisk minus 27° C (-16° F) and the thought of doing anything golf immediately rocketed from my brain. On days like this everything is moves slower including my thought processes. Given that this situation is not unique to this time of year, one would think that I had a contingency plan to keep my golfing passion rolling. Well, usually I do have something in the fire, but not today.

The temperature is too cold to even swing my orange whip in my quasi heated garage. The cold days of winter sometimes last for weeks, but this year we are experiencing a warmer than normal season and that is always a good thing. My activities this week will be limited to shoveling snow and staying warn….not a bad trade off I guess.
I have played golf in colder weather. The fall offers an opportunity to way many layers in order to beat back the cold. I think I have most of the kit needed to play in colder weather, however my desire to hit the links then is somewhat diminished. I am not sure if it is a sign of things to come, but we will see.
Golf is a sport that many live vicariously through others. Watching professional golf is always entertaining and when I put on my learning glasses it can be quite informative. I have learned to glean information, techniques, tips, drills, and course management from watching players better the me. I find the LPGA is better suited for my game to learn new things, but is a personal choice.
Well, today is going to be a write off for golf. I will muddle through my day being grateful for the other blessings in my life with an eye on finding future golf topics. I am blessed and I grateful for all the amazing people in my 3 foot space.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
-16° F? Ouch. It’s only expected to be 90° F warmer here when we tee off at 3pm. I might have to pack a jacket in the bag just in case. 😂

Kevin, You are living in the warm parts of the US for sure. I only have 2 months to wait for the warmer weather.
Cheers Jim

Extreme cold certainly dampens my enthusiasm for playing outdoors. It even has me reluctant to go snowshoeing on the golf course. It will pass.
Today, four of us are going to the golf course and are going to play on the simulator. It isn’t golf but is a golf-like social activity which we play on Tuesday. Just a few swings and giggles.
I am going to Toronto Golf and Travel Show this weekend to man the Golf Historical Society of Canada booth. A chance to promote vintage play and get out of the house.

Lorne, sounds like you are still immersed in golf and that is a good thing. I wanted to go to the golf show, but it is not in the cards this year. Have fun.
Cheers Jim
