Recently, I watched a three season comedy call Ted Lasso. There was on short scene that strikes me as fitting for any golfer. Well actually, it is great advice for any competitor. I wish I could have see this quick clip many years ago. For now, I will use it with the teams I coach moving forward.
Basically, do not dwell on poor or missed golf shots. Be a goldfish and focus on the next golf shot!
Have a terrific Tuesday!
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Ten whole seconds? That’s torture. 😂 But good advice. I know a couple 20 handicappers who need to learn that before they give themselves a stroke. 🤣
A good routine is the best way I know of to put the last shot behind me. Going through the process means thinking about both good and bad possibilities so I can make an informed decision on which shot I choose to take. That process should take your mind off the last shot. It does for me. And once you choose the shot, taking a few practice swings to get the feel of the shot you plan on making should help build confidence in your ability to execute. And when I’m ready, I step to the ball, take me stance, a waggle or two while I check target and line, and then I hit before I have a chance to think about anything else.
It helps. Maybe a little less when facing a bad looking lie, but still, I think the prep routine still helps.

Kevin,
A good pre-shot routine is critical to success. It clears the mind and prepares our body to make the next golf shot. That too is great advice.
Cheers Jim
