Three Tips For Hitting Consistent Irons

If you are like me, I struggled hitting my irons consistently. I practiced and practiced all aspects of setup, ball location, balance, tempo and many more in order to hit my irons consistently. Over the years, I worked on my hunt and peck method with slow agonizing success. Looking back, I wish I had discovered this video (actually there were no videos back in my early days of golf) or at least the information much sooner in my golfing journey. Well, thanks to Rick Shiels, you will benefit from my experience.

Rick Shiels is a great resource of golf information. I have watched many of his instructional videos and try to share the ones that will help most amateurs. This one deals three tips that will help all golfers hit their irons consistently. It will take some time to work out exactly how these tips work for your game, but I am confident that it will be worth the effort.

Shiels talks about the three fundamental aspects of hitting our irons consistently. Ball position in our stance, distance from the ball, and hitting the ball first. It all seems so simple when it is explained in easy terms.

The tip I struggle with the most is distance from the ball. I think I have figured out what works best for me, yet I still have to stay cognizant of how far I am standing from the tall with the different clubs. It is all a process that every golfer must work through from time to time. Regardless, my ball striking is better when I employ all three of Shiels tips.

Shiels provided three fundamental tips for striking consistent irons. Now that we are armed with solid foundational information, it is up to us to apply them in our golf swing.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
