Watching The Pros Hit Hickory Shaft Golf Clubs

My love of golf expanded last year. As you may know, I bought some hickory shafted golf clubs. I am about three weeks away from pulling them out of storage and I am excited! In the meantime, I thought I would share some other golfers having fun hitting vintage clubs.

I wish I was there with them, but my turn on my own course is coming. What do you think? Does it look like fun?

Timing and Tempo Of a Golf Swing

The challenge for many amateurs is to figure out the what’s and how’s of their golf swing. There is so much information floating around in the golf biosphere, it is difficult to ascertain what advice would best fit our game. The general understanding of terms is helpful, but knowing what they really mean is more important. Understanding why the what’s and how’s of my swing mechanics, now, will be helpful moving forward.

As amateurs develop their game, controlling our responses to the peaks and valleys of golf is one aspect of becoming a better golfer.

The fact is that it is not a strategy to follow because of the consistently poor results. Steering the golf ball is a bad thing, but fortunately there is a way to avoid it.

Taking Aim On A Par Three

Many golfers struggle with where to aim on a par three. I am not talking about the 200 yard monster that challenges many aspects of our game, but 135 yard hole that is in the wheel house of most golfers. For my game, this distance is a smooth 9 iron. Given the shorter distance, one would think that hitting the ball close would be a no brainer. However, more often than not, golfers tend to miss the green or leave themselves a very long putt. I often wondered about this and I think I have the answer.
