Wilson 50 and Wilso Duo

The Wilson 50 and Wilson Duo were recommended to me by several sources as great balls to play. Over the winter, I presented an infographic on Which Golf Ball is Best for You and this information sparked an interesting conversation about golf balls. The brand of Wilson 50 and Duo were repeatedly mentioned and I decided that I would try these balls and provide a product review.

I had to think of a fair process and ensure my bias for my current golf ball did not influence the results. So, I developed my own methodology for testing these golf balls. The conclusions are mine alone and I am not affiliated with Wilson at this time (one never knows what the future brings). I ran both golf balls through a battery of tests to see if these balls would fit well into my game.

Golf Drill: Having Fun With Chipping

Chipping is the second most important skill to master in golf; It sets up your putting (the most important skill to master). The closer the ball is to the hole, the easier the putt. I spend almost as much time working on my chipping as I do on my putting. Understanding the influences for each chip, which varies every time, is very important.

Advance Golf Drill – Putting

Putting is a very important skill to master for shooting low scores in golf. It is the core skill in my game and I am constantly working to improve my putting. Each round I play, I have a target number of 28 putts. It matches the PGA Tour average, but it is a realistic goal I meet or beat 50% of the time. My score is directly affected by how well I putt during the round, so I have high expectations.

To meet my high expectations, I work on my short game often. I try different drills and techniques to keep my putting sharp. Recently, I offered a simple putting drill for beginners. It involved two alignment sticks and three golf balls.

An Amazing Golf Shot

I really do not have much today. On days like these, I like to hit the range and practice. Possibly play a round of golf with some friends. During the summer, just playing golf for fun helps to get my writing juices flowing. It is not a bad thing, just something needed every once in a while.

I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday. If you cannot hit the links, here is something that will make you smile!

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

The Magic of One Shot in Golf

Happy Monday!

There are many great moments in golf. Each of us have fantastic memories that we can recount in minute detail. Personally, I have many great shots I can happily outline in every detail if asked. These special shots are mine alone and have great meaning to me. They form the bases to my positive approach to golf.

We have all played a round when nothing seemed to go well or everything was going awesome. Then suddenly, one shot changed the fortune of our round. It is not anything we can explain, but happens to everyone.
