As a spectator, you should be safe watching golf on the course. There are many stories of people being hit by the ball and this appears to be an acceptable risk of being at a live sporting event. I guess that is true when there are thousands of people mulling about, however what about when the course is not pack and you can stand just about anywhere. The Long and Short of Golf
There is nothing I like better than hearing a fishing story evolve over the years. You know, the story of the 2 pound pickerel that grew to 6 pounds and took 45 minutes to get into the boat. I need to refine my remarks and say I like nothing better than hearing a fish story, except for a golf tale!
I enjoy hearing how far amateurs hit the ball and explain that distance is never their issue. They can hit a 5-iron like the pros, but have a bit of a challenge putting. So, their game is not quite as sharp as it should be; have you ever experienced this?
Golf is Fantastic For Your Mental and Physical Well Being
As I start 2018, I am reminded of why golf is an important aspect of my life. The thought of hitting the course (in 4 months) makes me smile and opens up my mind to the possibilities of great things.
Unfortunately for many, they do not see the value of playing golf, nor are they inclined to try. I respect their view because there must be a perceived value in everything we do. Surprisingly, I believe that most nay-sayers made their decision based on false information; they truly do not understand the mental and health benefits of playing golf. Do you? Continue reading

As 2017 comes to a close, I cannot help but look back and realize how fast time flies. This was a banner year at The Grateful Golfer. I exceeded all expectations, met all milestones and still have the desire to keep writing about golf. Mostly, it I want to thank each and every person who stopped by to say hello.
