The CareerBuilder Challenge is over and unfortunately Adam Hadwin came up 1 stroke short for his first win on the PGA Tour. As a Canadian, I was rooting for my country man to pull out all the stops and capitalize on his 59 during the third round. Congrats to Adam Hadwin for being the 8th person in PGA Tour history to shoot a 59. He was the 4th player to do it on a par 72 course! I also read he was the first non winner on tour to shoot this amazing score. Maybe he can fix that today. Continue reading

My 2017 golf plan is ready and I think it will move much closer to my goal of being a scratch golfer. Unlike last year, I will have specific milestones to reach and timelines in ensure I stay focused throughout the year.
I am planning to use the same process as previous years because it works very well for my game. It is not complicated and helps me identify the areas I need/want to improve. Except, I am going to take it a step further. I found out last year that but not having quantifiable goals, I did not maximize the golfing opportunities. This year this is all going to change. The race for the FED Ex Cup is underway and all the points gained over the past 8 weeks count towards making the 10 million dollar pay off. I try to pick winners each week in several fantasy leagues and I can tell you from experience that it is impossible to know who will win from week to week.
For example, this week at the Sony Open Justin Thomas started the tournament with a magical 59. As the youngest player in PGA Tour history to accomplish such a feat, I am pretty sure no one predicted Thomas running away with the top prize. Keeping this in mind, it is very challenging to determine who will have the most FED Ex points leading into the playoff or is it?
