This page is dedicated to all those golfing fans brave enough to make a prediction on which player is going to win at the golf Majors in 2016. At the end, all the predictions will be tallied and the winner will be crown at the end of the last Major.

The 10-Minute Golf Lesson

Practicing for my 10-minute golf lesson

What can you learn in a 10-minute golf lesson? This is the second 10-minute lesson I received from a PGA Ontario member. During the Toronto Golf Show, PGA Ontario had it usual kiosk with and large number of teaching professionals waiting to help amateurs improve their game. This years lesson proved that even an old dog can learn a few new tricks.

I was fortunate to be paired with PGA Canada Golf Professional Kyle Docherty. Kyle is an Assistant Professional, Scarboro Golf & C.C. and if you are in the area looking for a lesson or two, I recommend you give Kyle a call. He is a positive, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic teacher who quickly identified some fundamental errors in my swing. Continue reading

Olympic Golfing Trophy

At the Toronto golf show this year, I was surprised to see the Olympic Golfing Trophy in all its glory! It was very impressive and it was setup beside the RBC Canadian Open Trophy. These displays were both ‘no-touch’ displays, but pictures were more than acceptable.  I enjoy looking at most things historical and seeing both of these trophies was a very special treat. Toronto Golf and Travel Show 2016

Last Friday, I made my annual trek to the Toronto Golf and Travel Show. This year’s trip was extra special because my darling wife accompanied me as I wove my way through the club demos, travel booths and discount shops.

As per previous years, the Toronto Golf show was full of areas to try new equipment, long drive contest, putting contests, swing analyzer, receive lessons, discount shops, and plenty of travel destinations. We enjoyed talking to people from Golf PEI, Golf Association Ontario and Golf Canada. We were there early before the crowds and lasted about 2.5 hours.
