Pondering About My Golf Day

Every morning I rise early from my slumber and slowly amble towards the kitchen. I prepare the coffee, have a small snack, and set up my computer to check the news (not just golf stuff) and of course the weather. This time of year offers some unique challenges to playing golf and each morning I like to think about my golf game and of course the activities I will do before or afterwards. It is a solid routine that allows me to wake up slowly and develop a plan to accomplish something during my waking hours.

Breaking Par For The First Time In My 2020 Golf Season

I finally broke par in 2020. Yesterday I shot a 1 under par 70. It was a solid round where I struck the ball better than any other round this year. My round was comfortable and seemed easy right from the first swing. I was over the moon to play a solid round with no major errors.

Playing Golf With Hickory Shafts – What A Thrill!

I was invited to play a round of golf by Bill Vossen a couple of weeks ago. This invite was nothing out of the ordinary except our round was to be played with a set of hickory shaft clubs! The Golf Historical Society of Canada was hosting a few members at Osprey Links Golf Course to try playing a round of golf using equipment technology from the late 1800s and early 1900s. I have to say it was a thrill and I found that the experience invigorated my golf game.
