It is the time of year where many families want to share the love with their golfer. The intent is always a good thing because they want to acknowledge their loved one’s passion. Of course this delving into gift giving can be a two edged sword because buying the gifts for golfers can be challenging. So, I am here to help. I looked at many videos about gift giving and decided on one. I will mention that the brand name is not important, but the gift idea is pretty good. I do not endorse any product, but have an idea on how to help at the end of the article.

Contemplating Golf In The Winter
As I sit in my comfy chair sipping a coffee, I often think about my golf game. I wonder what I have to do to improve and more importantly, what I am willing to do. Most times, these two ideas do not jive and a hybrid solution needs to be developed in order to keep my golf game moving forward. This is always a slow time of the year for my golf game because I still have four months to wait before the courses open. I know this is crazy, but I do not travel in the winter and so I am here lamenting not being able to hit the links. Not to worry, there is a bright spot in my situation and it is not what you think.

I love the Christmas season. The winter wonderland, the sharing of happiness and joy, and spending time with the special people in my life. Although there is no golf, I will take the time to enjoy some outdoor activities, visiting, and being grateful. For me, it is also the time to give back to the community and to share some of my good fortune by donating to charities, the food bank, and just smiling at those I might encounter. The spirit of Christmas is all around us and I for one am happy to embrace it.
As part of my holiday traditions, I watch the Little Drummer Boy and post it on my golf blog. It does not seem like much, but this video is one of my all time favorites and I like to share its joy with you the readers!
In case you did not notice, I love his mittens!
The Christmas season is a special time and I hope you take the opportunity to take the time and enjoy your family and friends. Although golf is on the back burner, I still am trying to figure out a way to keep swinging. I have a plan now and expect to execute it very soon. This was a bit of a repost from previous years with a few minor changes; but worth the look.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Finding Some Golf Stuff To Talk About
The Grateful Golfer was created in May of 2012. Wow almost 13 years of writing has given me time to think about the amount of joy I have gleaned from sharing my thoughts on golf. Sometimes my musing are informative and others…..well, thanks for putting up with my diatribes. With over 1.2 million views ant 800k visitors, I must be doing something right. This year will be my best yet and I am grateful for all the support from you the readers. Unfortunately, finding something to write about that is golf relate is a challenge. Especially since my golf season has ended and I have transitioned to coaching high school basketball. Regardless, I sit down everyday and amble through the golf topics trying to find something to share. Well, today I could not find anything specific to write about except this:

Every year, November 11 is a special day to all military personnel. Today, we take the time to honor the fallen, wounded and serving military men, women and their families. Their sacrifices have allowed for the freedoms we enjoy today. It is important to give thanks and be grateful for our wonderful lives they protect. This is my third year out of uniform after 36 years of service. It will be a different experience for me as I learn to be a veteran still trying to serve my community. But, not matter how much time passes I will not let my gratitude diminish to all my brothers and sisters in arms who gave their lives so we can live in peace!
