I have mentioned before that a bump and run is a great golf shot that allows golfers to roll the ball pin. It offers a better chance of going in or at least leave a very simple putt left for an up and down. I have found, with a resurgence of my use with a 7-iron, I am playing more confident shots with greater success. I have even chipped in twice in the last two weeks and this is always a good thing. I know I talk about a bump and run a fair bit, but how exactly do we play such shots to produce consistent effective results. Playing To My Handicap Put Into The Finals Of The Stroke Match Play Tournament
I made it to the finals of the Osprey Links Stroke Match Play Club Championship. It is the first for me to make it this far. In the past I usually lost in the semi or quarter finals. But not this year; this year I made it to the final match by playing my handicap or at least very close too it. I have said for years that to compete in any tournament, just shoot your handicap or a bit better. Most players do not respond well during competition and generally shoot higher than expected. My approach is a great recipe for success.

As you start to read my musings for today I know your accessing your voice to understand how it benefits or hurts your game. When I play golf, I sometimes have wandering thoughts that detract from my game. For some reason my focus is not as sharp as it should be and I forget to think about my routines that keep my game in check. I usually catch myself and make a concerted effort to channel my thoughts, but there are usually some outside influences that make it very challenging to mentally stay focused; some are avoidable and others not so much.
