How To Play Your Best Golf

Every golfer has a unique journey the is riddled with rough patches brushed over with outstanding results. It is the natural order of things there is only one way to play your best golf. Play golf like Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus or Bobby Jones; it is as simple as that. Obviously, this is an over simplification but if you can play like these legends then I tip my hat to your game. Demystifying A Stimpmeter

When signing into the proshop of a new golf course, I usually ask what the greens are running. This simple question refers to how fast the greens are playing. In my opinion, a reasonable speed for amateurs is between ten and eleven on the stimpmeter. The stimpmeter is a device used to measure the speed of a golf course putting green by applying a known velocity to a golf ball and measuring the distance traveled in feet. It is not a very scientific device, but is very important if golfers understand what this means. The intent of the article is to demystify a stimpmeter so we can better prepare ourselves for a great round of golf.

A Drill To Improve Golf Ball Contact

The ability to coordinate all body movements to make solid contact is challenging at best. If you are an aspiring golfer like me, any advantage gained is one that is hard to overlook. I found a straight arm drill years ago that help me improve my swing, but for some reason I have lacked in practice to sustain previous successes. Regardless, I have found a video reminding me that I need to practice this simple, repeatable drill to improve my control, balance and weight shift through contact.
