If you have ever tried to pick the right golf for your game, I am sure you were quickly overwhelmed by the selection, prices, and performance. I am confident you have hit at least a dozen different types of golf balls over the course of a year (or round 😉 ). I know I have tried so many different types of golf balls, I cannot even recall how many. However, I have settled on three balls and generally stick to them for my entire season. Before I get to into the balls I play, I have a couple of tips that might work for you when picking a ball to play.
Continue readingLine Of Sight Relief From An Obstruction
It is not uncommon for golf courses to have permanent obstructions on a golf course, like a fence. There are many reasons to have these obstructions especially when holes run parrallel to each other. At Osprey Links, there are two fences that come into play quite often. One is on the 3rd/6th hole and 18/1st hole. I have found myself having to take relief from these permanent obstructions more than I care to talk about. 😉 After finding myself close to these obstructions, I followed a process to take relief, but if you do not know the process, then you might inadvertently incur penalty strokes you do not need.

Over the years I have collected a few golf clubs that I keep as spares. They are mainly used as a loaner set to friends who are visiting and want to hit the links. I have a left handed set (almost full) several right handed sets, two ladies sets and two kids sets. They all sit in the garage just waiting for someone to use them. I do not mind lending my old clubs to other players for a round or to give them a trial run.
Continue readingA Drill To Fix A Pull In Your Golf Swing
For years I have had a challenge of pulling the ball left. I know this issue is solvable and I continue to work on this area of my swing mechanics. I found a simple drill that should help me engage my lower body more, thus preventing a pulled golf shot. Here is this simple, repeatable, and sustainable drill:
This is a drill that I can use in my DIY driving range. To help with my aim, I will place a target on the net as to help visualize what I want to achieve. Not all drills need to be complicated and this is a perfect example.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
