I believe that most golfers sell themselves short by not knowing their club distances. It is hard to determine which club to select for various golf shots if you are not certain how far your ball will travel 7 times out of 10. You will notice that I did not say every time because we rarely hit the ball to maximum distances on every shot. Hence, know how far we hit a ball 75% of the time is a very good thing.

During every round of golf, I will have to hit my ball from an awkward lie. Whether my ball is above or below my feet, trying to hit it solid is always a challenge. The trick to hitting great shots from challenging positions is all in the set up. After positioning ourselves properly, making a normal swing is the key to success. I have found myself having to take relief from these permanent obstructions more than I care to talk about. 😉 After finding myself close to these obstructions, I followed a process to take relief, but if you do not know the process, then you might inadvertently incur penalty strokes you do not need.
