Routinely Shooting A Consistent Score

Have you ever wondered what score you shoot on a routine basis? You know, that one score that is always in the running and depending on the day you will shoot higher or lower than that benchmark. For every golfer, that score is different and usually varies in direct relationship to a players skill. As a low handicapper, it is expected that my score should be consistently lower than a mid or high handicapper. This is not euphony for sure, but I was wondering what my score (s) are that I consistently shoot.

Establishing Consistent Golf Swing Tempo

Golf is a fun game when we are playing well. I know that as my round continues and my score is in excellent zone, I have a tendency to change my tempo and focus. Mostly it is because my emotions are ramping up and I get a head of myself. When I can control myself, I find that my tempo stays in check and I am able to finish strong. I have a few techniques and found a video by David Leadbetter that shows two things I do that helps. The other two might be a benefit for you, but only you can decide.

Golf is a sport of missed opportunities. Every I step up to the first tee, the shot combinations for the round seem astronomical. Like a snowflake, I have never made the same shot combinations to achieve a specific score. I think it would be impossible to hit the same shots over 18 holes, hence each round is unique as the next. Opening A Can Of Whoop…..

Golf is gentlemen’s game where strict (usually) adherence to etiquette. We always try our best to score low and close out match play rounds to the best of our abilities. There are times when we are the receiving end of a beat down, but there are a few instances where we are the players leading the pack. I often wonder in golf if there is ever a time where our play is so demoralizing to our opponents that they just throw in the towel early. In other words, we have opened a can of whoop…. and might seem disingenuous.

Selecting The Right Putter Grip

Your putter is used more than any other club during a round of golf. Hence, it is critical that you grip it in a way that best fits your game. I have experienced with all kinds of grips over the years, but always revert back to a standard grip. The only reason I tried different grips was to see if I would feel more confident or see any improvement to my results. I never did, so back to the basics is worked for me. There are many different variations to holding your putter, but three basic ones is the best place to start if you are planning on making changes or just starting to develop your putting game.
