Today Rick and I play in the Senior Scramble at Osprey Links. With both of us being over 55, we qualify to the event. Actually, this is our second year in a row where we get to pit or skills against the rest of the pack. Last year we were in the prizes, so we are hoping that this year we will be able to repeat our previous success. As always, there is a strategy to playing in these types of events and this year we are going to try something new.

I really do not have anything golf to talk about, but this is one of my favourite life lessons. I have talked about it before, but is still worth sharing!

Three Bad Shots Cost Me Shooting Under Par
During my great round yesterday, After the first eight holes I felt I had a solid chance to shoot under par. This milestone is the golden ticket for me and I cruising towards success. I was hitting the ball very well, my chips were solid and my putting was smooth. It appeared that the stars had aligned and an under par score was in my grasp. That is until I hit three poor shots that cost my four strokes. Let me lament!

Golf is a contact sport. I always enjoy my time on the links with friends, especially ones I have not played a round with for many years. Our friends Kirk and Michelle were able to visit over the weekend and for this I am grateful. The visit gave Kirk and I the opportunity to hit the links. This is the first time in about five years and our time on the links was just like old times. We picked up where we left off by chatting, joking around and hitting some great shots. The time flew by and we are already planning our next outing.

There are golfers that play golf, play golf, and play golf. You can not hear the inflection in my voice as you read the first line, but if you think about it……there are three different state of golfer. Every athlete has an inner athlete trying to work its way to the surface. Sometimes the journey is a challenging and other times it is a natural progression. Well, golfers are exactly the same. The challenge I have found during my journey was determining the type of player that best suit my mental and physical capabilities. Finding my inner golfer was a journey, but I think I have a handle on it now.
