The Chink In My Golf Armour

Every golfer has a weak point in their game. If you asked, I am sure many would have several…..I know I do. This being the case, we develop other skills to protect against our weaknesses and hopefully are smart enough to manage our golf shots protect our overall golf score. Unfortunately there are days when no matter what we do or how which plan we use that day, nothing seems to help. That is when the chink in our golf armour really shines through like a beacon of light in a dark room.

My Rusting Golf Game At The End Of The Golf Season

Similar to previous golf seasons, I have entered the time of year where my golf game is beginning to rust out. This inevitable process is the result of lack of practice, poor weather, and a need to focus on other aspects of my life. Specifically, I need to focus on preparing for the dreaded white cold that is inching my way. However, I will say that I am fighting the losing battle to keep my game sharp, but alas it is the nature of things.

Having Fun With Golf

Golf does not always have to be a serious game. There are ample opportunities to play jokes of friends in and around the golf course. I generally do not ‘pull’ jokes on my playing partners, but over the years I have seen some pretty funny things. Of course it is a matter of perspective sometimes, but for the most part, it was intended to be fun.

Doing Minor Golf Club Maintenance

For years I have relied on my friends to help (complete) minor golf club maintenance. It is not that I did not have the skill, but more the knowledge to do simple things like change my grips. Well, I decided that relying on my friends is okay, it was time I took responsibility for my own equipment. Having said that, I took a small step forward and changed three of my grips last week and hope to test run my efforts on Sunday.

Attitude Is Everything When Playing Golf

The Grateful Attitude!

I realize I have said this a thousand times at The Grateful Golfer; but something happened the other day that I just had to share. It reinforced my view that attitude is key to shooting low golf scores. If you read my previous posts, I broke par for the first time this year. It was a marvelous game and something that was noteworthy for my 2020 golf season.
