For the second straight year, Brooks Koepka will take home the Wanamaker Trophy. At the start of the fourth round, everyone (including myself) thought it would be walk in the park. However, starting on hole 11, his and Dustin Johnson’s fortunes began to change. That is when the PGA Championship started to get interesting.

There were no surprises to day at the PGA Championship. The scores were all within expected norms and Brooks Koepka played smart and maintained his 7 stroke lead. Why would he do anything different…..right?

Bethpage Black golf course is a beast! It played long today and many players found out how difficult of a course it really plays. Not surprisingly, the top players navigated around the course fairly well with a few notable exceptions. Hopefully, these players will get back on track during day two. More importantly, Brooks Koepka is at the top of the leaderboard and looks very strong at this time.

The 2019 PGA Championship is set at the beautiful Bethpage Black Course in New York. By all accounts the course is in fantastic condition and temperatures will be in the low 60s with a chance of rain on Friday. Additionally, the Black Course will be a par 70 measuring 7465 yards. The slope will is 155 and the rating is 77.5. This is a monster of course and contribute to higher scores in the field this week and only those players with length and accuracy will be able to stand up to the very challenging conditions. So, keeping this in mind, lets predict the winner of the 2019 PGA Championship.

The second Major of 2019 commences tomorrow and I am excited to see how the professions are going to react to the new schedule of front loading the new season with Majors. All the top players are aware of beast the resides within New York’s Bethpage Black course and will take nothing for granted. With the top players all in attendance (except Justin Thomas), it can be anyone’s tournament; even Jordan Spieth!
