Toe Chipping With Success Revisited

I have decided to repurpose an old post because of a tournament I play in two weekends ago at Clear Springs Golf Course. The rough around the green was long, wet and thick. When I used my technique of toe down chipping, I was asked by the playing partner and opponents what I was doing. They asked because my ball effortlessly popped out of a difficult lie with great success. Thus, with fall golf upon me and the grass being wet and think, I thought it was important to revisit this great chipping tip.

We have all heard of life hacks that make our lives easier. Well, golf is no different as there are a few tricks and tips to help you shoot better scores. And this is one of them. After more introspection, I think that chipping onto the fast greens is an area I will have to think about more. So, it is back to the basics for me.

It seems that we are all on the ‘three steps forward – two steps back’ path to success sometimes, until it stops. Then it starts all over again and the process moving forward can be slow in challenging. It is as if I forget how to play golf from time to time. Unfortunately, playing in a two person senior scramble was on of those times for my game!

A Drill To Improve Your Touch Around The Green

Every golfer can recognize a player with great touch around the green. Their ball always finishes within a reasonable distance for an easy putt. As they watch the ball roll out, they assume that the results of where the ball finishes is the key to great touch around the green. Unfortunately, they are looking at the end result and not the real cause of great touch. If you really want to know how great touch is achieved around the green, we need to examine the process of chipping.
