An Interesting Chipping Game to Lower Your Scores

Jeff Hutchinson demonstrating his chipping prowess!

We talk about how important our short game is to low golf scores. Being able to successfully hit out of trouble is a game saver. I am always trying to find new and fun ways to improve my short game without having the stress of focusing on form.

Sometimes the best way to learn the skill of chipping is to just do it! I think of other sports and realize that everyone had some sort of game attached to the practice. For example, in basketball we played HORSE, around the world, blind 21, and king of the world. All of these games helped improve my shooting and foot work while having fun. Using a Hybrid to Chip

Accurate chipping is an important component of low golf scores. There are many influences on each chip and selecting the proper club, stroke, stance, and follow through are just a few. Chipping With One Eye

It is not anything critical, but it something I must be aware of during the transition. Primarily, the greatest adjustment occurs in my short game. It takes about 15 minutes on the practice area to make the change and it is worth every second that I practice. Continue reading

How Important is Your Follow Through in Golf

There are few things in golf that I consider a constant. One is keeping my head still during all of my golf swings and another is to watch my club make contact with the ball. These all seem very basic and natural to a seasoned player, but they are lessons I must relearn from time to time. Another constant for a successful golf swing is my follow through. The reason it is so important is that it is my first indicator that I have trouble with my golf swing. Continue reading
