The Emotional Side of Golf

Watching Sergio Garcia and Bryson DeChambeau demonstrate their displeasure and chew up some of the golf course. This, however, is not the emotional aspect of golf I was thinking about today. The emotional side of golf I was thinking about was one that elicits a memory that we cannot forget. When we talk about a specific event from our golf game, we generally have a feeling or emotional response to that event. And that is why we remember it so well.

Building Your Golf Game From the Ground Up

Don’t let the title confuse you into thinking that your stance is the first part of your golf swing you have to master. Although it is very important, it is only one component of your golf game. A golf game is made up of four basic parts, each is as important as the other. Leaving out any of the four does lead to under achievement and immense frustration.

Before you start laughing, think about your golf swing; now focus on playing golf. After a moment, I bet you only come up with three components. These would be considered the low hanging fruit and easy to discern. But, pray tell is that fourth component that makes all the difference! Continue reading

Golf Season is Just Around the Corner

As many of my fellow Canadians will attest, the 2016 golf season is just around the corner. The snow is gone, April showers have started, and a crazy cardinal is banging its head against my patio door (I am not kidding about the cardinal)! All of these, and many more, are signs that spring is near and golf season will soon be upon us!

After 4 months, I am ready to hit the links! This off-season seemed exceptionally long and for some reason, time seemed to pass slower than molasses moving downhill in January! As golf season is just weeks away, it is time to prepare. As a creature of habit, I will start my preseason tradition of mentally, physically, and emotionally preparing to golf.
