Receiving of Snell Golf Balls

The right golf ball for your game is very important. Over the years, I think I have tried them all to try and find that perfect ball for my game. As my game changed, the need for a different golf ball also changed.

I think evolving your game is an important aspect of playing golf. And selecting the proper equipment is at the core of that change. Having said that, I had a recent conversation with Mike Johnny,  36aday golf blog and an ambassador for Snell Golf, about my continuing search and graciously offered to sent me a gift. All I Want for Christmas….

With only 2 weeks until Christmas, many people are frantically running around to find that special something for the special people in their lives. This stressful aspect of the holidays can be fun for some and a source of pure dread for others. Personally, my wife and I solved this nut years ago and the next two weeks are going be spent hanging out and enjoying the beauty that mother nature has to offer.

Storing Your Clubs During the Off Season

Taking care of your golf clubs is very important. Most of us invest thousands of dollars in our equipment; without proper care, they could prematurely wear out or break. In the northern climes, we have an extended off-season that forces us to store our clubs until needed in the spring.

The process is nothing special but, in addition to my equipment, it helps provide closure to the sadness of the end of golf season. Of course, this is a bit dramatic, however storing my clubs properly protects my equipment and allows me to take stock on anything needing replacement. Continue reading

Advance Golf Drill – Putting

Putting is a very important skill to master for shooting low scores in golf. It is the core skill in my game and I am constantly working to improve my putting. Each round I play, I have a target number of 28 putts. It matches the PGA Tour average, but it is a realistic goal I meet or beat 50% of the time. My score is directly affected by how well I putt during the round, so I have high expectations.

To meet my high expectations, I work on my short game often. I try different drills and techniques to keep my putting sharp. Recently, I offered a simple putting drill for beginners. It involved two alignment sticks and three golf balls.

How to Search for a Lost Ball

Lost golf ballsAt least once a round, I go in search of the elusive white ball. At no fault of my own, the like white bundle of joy (or should I say frustration) decides to play hide and seek! It is very frustrating when my golf ball gets a mind if its own and lets its ego run away with the plan we devised at the start of the round.

As most golfers find themselves from time to time, searching for a wayward golf ball is a skill that all players need to conquer. Knowing how to find a lost ball does is not as simple as playing hide and seek; there is a methodology that will help most amateurs reduce strokes by finding their ball more often than not.
