The second leg of my golf trip was easily as much fun as the first. Making our way to Roanoke Golf Club was a simple drive only minutes away from Pembroke and Petawawa, Ontario. After a quiet night on day one, I was ready for another wonderful round of golf on a great course. Fortunately, I was not disappointed. Roanoke proved to be as much of a challenge as day one with all the fun!

Day One Of My Two Day Golf Trip In The Ottawa Valley
Every year, 72 golfers associated with my home town of Mattawa descend on the Petawawa / Pembroke area to have a fun tournament, rekindle long standing friendships and play some golf. This year, we played a two fantastic courses which added to great fun had by all. Organized by a long standing local resident of Mattawa, Paul, we headed down to Wolf Ridge Golf Course for the first day of fun in the sun. It was an amazing day of golf on a stellar course!

The moment I stepped onto the grounds of the Windermere Golf and Country Club, I was impressed. Everything about the course screamed pride of ownership and professionalism. As I surveyed the property waiting for our tee time, it was evident that Windermere was not some run of the mill golf course. The day was going to be more than just golf, it was going to be a whole golfing experience. I was introduced to Jim Rennie by my friend and playing partner Mike. It was easy to see why the staff at Windermere were professional and courteous because Jim was the epitome of these characteristics. From the very beginning, our golf experience was proving to be very memorable. And the whole day only improved as we hit the links.

Recently, I had the pleasure of playing a course in my local area. On Sunday morning past, my friend Mike called and asked if I wanted to play North Granite Ridge near Port Sydney. To my dismay, I had to look up this great track because I had never heard it before. After looking at the course on line, I jumped at the chance to play at this ‘new to me’ course and playing North Granite Ridge met one of my goals to play 5 ‘new to me’ courses in 2019. Jim and Blair at Sequin Valley Golf Club
Sequin Valley should be on your list of must play courses. I recently ventured down to Parry Sound for a round of golf and the full Sequin Valley experience. Blair and I did not know what to expect, but we had heard great things about Seguin Valley. During the entire trip, we talked extensively about the positives of this course and both walked away very impressed. I can tell you from the very start, I was not disappointed.
