My Review Of The Windermere Golf and Country Club

The moment I stepped onto the grounds of the Windermere Golf and Country Club, I was impressed. Everything about the course screamed pride of ownership and professionalism. As I surveyed the property waiting for our tee time, it was evident that Windermere was not some run of the mill golf course. The day was going to be more than just golf, it was going to be a whole golfing experience. I was introduced to Jim Rennie by my friend and playing partner Mike. It was easy to see why the staff at Windermere were professional and courteous because Jim was the epitome of these characteristics. From the very beginning, our golf experience was proving to be very memorable. And the whole day only improved as we hit the links.

Golf Course Review: North Granite Ridge Golf Club

Mike and Jim at the first hole!

Recently, I had the pleasure of playing a course in my local area. On Sunday morning past, my friend Mike called and asked if I wanted to play North Granite Ridge near Port Sydney. To my dismay, I had to look up this great track because I had never heard it before. After looking at the course on line, I jumped at the chance to play at this ‘new to me’ course and playing North Granite Ridge met one of my goals to play 5 ‘new to me’ courses in 2019. Thanks Mike for giving me a call and letting me join you for 27 holes of fun!

Course Review: Seguin Valley Golf Club

Jim and Blair at Sequin Valley Golf Club

Sequin Valley should be on your list of must play courses. I recently ventured down to Parry Sound for a round of golf and the full Sequin Valley experience. Blair and I did not know what to expect, but we had heard great things about Seguin Valley. During the entire trip, we talked extensively about the positives of this course and both walked away very impressed. I can tell you from the very start, I was not disappointed. Because of my positive experience with the course and staff, I am already planning a trip for next year.  Continue reading

Salt Creek Golf Links Course Review

I hit Salt Creek Golf Links yesterday with mixed results. We did not know what to expect and arrived with an open mind and a positive outlook. The sun was shining, the company was great and we were not working. How can things be bad, right!

We arrived early and were ready to play. My friend went into the Pro Shop as he booked Salt Creek on-line. Upon his arrival, he was dutifully informed that the front nine was closed because they were punching the greens. It was not a planned maintenance project, but it is what it is. The person working the desk said that front nine might be open at noon or we could play the back nine twice.  As a token for our inconvenience, she gave my friend a pass for nine holes some other time. So we decided to play the back nine twice.

Black Bear Ridge Golf Course – Review

20160515_115228The Black Bear Ridge Golf Course is a gem. It is a course that offers everything for all players. During the Military Appreciation Day on 15 May 16, 60 members of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 8 Wing Trenton invaded this great venue to enjoy their generosity. The day was very cold and wet, but that did not dampen our excitement to tee it up.

Black Bear Ridge is a traditional parkland layout designed with sweeping vistas, natural water features, and superior conditioning. With five sets of tees from 5145 to 7238 yards, golfers of any skill level will find a distance that provides them with a pleasant experience assuming that they pick a tee that suits their skill level.” Continue reading
