I am always searching for tips on how to hit my irons. This is the weakest part of my game and as such, I routinely try to maintain or refine what aspects of these swings I do well. Additionally, I try to shed the poor habits, but it takes work and focus to determine what to keep and what to drop. Every golfer has battled against white noise when on the links. You know, those intrusive thoughts, sounds or actions of the normal happenings when playing. In some cases, when the pressure is turned up, the white noise is a massive distraction. It becomes so invasive that I have a challenge staying focused enough to make a stroke. Every golfer hits a poor golf shot. I know that I have hit my fair share that may or may not be considered my fault. Interestingly, this view of my performance has changed over the years such that I own my poor shots and focus less on the conditions or other factors. Yup, if I attempted to hit the ball, the results have to accepted as my best attempt at that time. This mental acceptance is difficult sometimes, but it does allow for lower golf scores over the course of any round.

There is one drill by Rick Shiels espouses that will help many players consistently break 90. This specific drill is one that I have used for years and have taught to many of my friends.
