This is the first time I have had the opportunity to discuss a change in a golf course’s rating. It is something I have thought about over the years, but never have seen a change actually happen. Well, last fall, Osprey Links, my home course, went through the process of establishing a new course rating. As it turns out, Osprey Links is a more difficult course than previously thought. And frankly I am not surprised!

Posting Golf Scores For Your Handicap Index
Posting your golf score after every round should be second nature. Of course, not all players think this is important because of the evolution of golf tournaments over the past 20 years. Somewhere along the way, between marketing and apathy, net events have lost their shine and have fallen to the weigh side. But, as an avid golfer you better beware if you do not have an official handicap. The changes to how scores are calculated have changed and understanding what “net” means will be important to future golf events.

Regardless of your preference, there is a course out there that suits your desires. I have two stories about wonderful courses that offer unique challenges to my game. I loved playing both the courses, but to score well, I had get past the first hole in order to have a chance at shooting a low golf score.

With just over a month to go before opening season and I feel now is not the time to change my normal preparation routine. Of course, world events have shocked everyone, but I am hoping that it will be business as usual (tongue in cheek) at my local golf course. Fortunately, we still have about 4 or 5 weeks before opening day and I am hoping that some resemblance of normal will return.
