The Grateful Golfer Mid Season Review

It is about that time to review my current progress during the 2016 golf season. Each year, I like to examine how my season is progressing and figure out if I need a mid-season adjustment in order to meet my pre-season goals. I am sure many of you do the same thing and my process is not unique, but it is something I do every year!

This year, my mid-season review is a about 1 month late. Normally, I try to examine everything by mid-July, but due to several big life changes (retiring, moving, starting work again) I did not play as much golf in early July as normal. That is okay, however, because I needed to ensure my priorities were on my life changes and nothing else. So here is what I think so far!

I try to use this drill once every week or two as reminder of the basics I need to keep reinforcing. Over the years, this “Putting Made Easy” Golf Drill has helped lower my scores and strengthen my short game. Continue reading

Golf’s Great Equalizer

When we watch a professional tournament, it is easy to spot the players who are playing well and those that are not just up to snuff. No matter what, the common threat of success seems to boil down to one factor in all players….golf’s great equalizer!

Putting – Line or Speed?

Putting is difficult, easy, rewarding and frustrating all at the same time. This fundamental stroke is the focus of relentless discussion by the experts. How to hold the club; blade or mallet head; fat or thin grip; lag or aggressive; I could to on and on, but I think you get my point. The changing variables of putting are vast and fluid at best. Yet, sometimes a simple tip is all that is required to simplify matters and help lower your golf score! Continue reading
