Using A Small Target For Aligning A Golf Shot

In the past, I have espoused “aim small, miss small”. This mantra is as important today as it was a few years ago. The requirement to hit a wide open fairway often provides a challenge for players because their focal point of aim is the wide open fairway. Many times my playing partners lamented on missing the fairway that was as big as an ocean. The reason for their wayward shots was that they focused on the whole fairway instead of a specific point off in the distance. A simple change to any players setup process will rectify their wild shots off the tee; it truly is very simple.

Picking Out The Perfect Target Line

Picking out the perfect target line is an art. Many, inexperienced golfers, think that aiming down the middle of the open sight line is the always the proper line. Experience tells me that this is rarely the case and a more discerning approach to selecting the perfect target line is required. I have learned this nugget for years of falsely believing that the fattest spot of my sight line was the safest. Boy, was I mistaken. Fighting To Score Low During A Great Round

Fighting to score low or grinding out a score is nothing new to any golfer. We have all played rounds where every shot down the stretch was as stretch. Some of the pressure was mental….actually lets face it; it is all mental. This post is not about finding your mental strength, although that would be a great topic, it is about focusing on the things that alleviate your worries about making each shot.
