The first day at the Masters was exciting. With 44 players sitting at even or better (just over half), moving day is shaping up to be exciting. Three players shot minus 7 to lead the field as I expected. Hovland, Rahm and Koepka’s score is two lower than I thought, they did establish themselves as the players to beat. Now that Friday is here, Augusta National will start to rear its toughness expected by many during the first round. However, the playing conditions were perfect and 44 players refused to bow to the pressure. So what is instore for Moving Day at this year’s Masters? Can the players respond with the same scoring now that the weather is starting to roll in?

Opening Day At The 2023 Masters
The day is finally here! The 2023 Masters starts very soon and all the hype will be replaced with great play. All the players will have to make a quick start for the opening day because the weather is going to degrade as the next four days unfold. That means that getting out a a quick start of 3 or 4 under would set anyone in the field up for a fantastic Masters. After a very fun and family par 3 contest yesterday, the players will now focus on hitting fairways and greens. But is that all they need to do shoot well?

No this is not a metaphor for anything, my entire region is being pelted with freezing rain which will result in everything being encased by ice today. For the first time in many years I am excited to watch this year’s Masters. I have decided to delve into the world of predictions as in years past. This year it should be very interesting considering the rift in professional golf. There seems to be a nonsense story trending about the PGA and LIV and I can guarantee you that this will be the last I will talk about it. I will however focus on the players and who I think will have a chance to take home the Green Jacket. For today’s article, I want to discuss what I think the winner will need to do better than every other player in the field to be crown the 2023 Masters Champion.

Yup, the FedEx Cup should adopt the one and done match play format of US college basketball! It would be very exciting for the fans as the top 64 players in the world go head to head over the space of 4 weeks.
