What we consider vintage clubs were the top of the line back in 1973. Well, for the most part anyway. “In 1973, Johnny Miller shot a final-round 63 to win the U.S. Open. Miller said, “It was the oldest set of clubs [in relation] to the year it was played on Tour in the history of golf.” A recent tweet from Brian Schneider gave an incredible insight into the clubs in Miller’s bag for that event.” If you think about it, a great swing makes up for what many perceived as poor technology by today’s standards. Two Vintage Must Attend Golf Events Are Quickly Approaching
The Vintage Golf Collectibles Sale and Trade Show is quickly coming. Hosted by the Golf Historical Society of Canada, this trade show looks to be a must attend event. The interesting thing about this event is that it is taking place at the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame at the Glen Abby Golf Club. If you are interested in vintage clubs, hearing fantastic stories from the Historical Societies president, Lorne Emery, or just browsing for some new/old clubs then the trade show is the place to be.
Additionally, the World Hickory Golf Day is quickly approaching. If you want to play in event hosted by the Golf Historical Society of Canada, then see the flyer below. I have played in an hickory event and it is great fun. If you are able, I recommend you attend this fun golf tournament.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

I am not 100% sure what direction it will finally lead, but I am going to enjoy the ride.

Recently, on a lark, I asked the question about the oldest club in your bag. I thought that most players would have equipment, like myself, that is 5 or 6 years old and that they change the sticks out regularly. Boy was I wrong! As it turns out, over half the golfers keep at least one club for a very long time. I bet you cannot guess which club they keep the longest!
