No Toronto Golf and Travel Show This Year!

I am sad to say that I will not be attending the Toronto Golf and Travel Show this year. It is “the largest golf event in Canada bringing thousands of golf enthusiasts together. Features hundreds of exhibitors, product demonstrations from the top brands in golf and lessons from PGA of Ontario professionals all weekend!” It is an annual trip that has become a milestone for the start of my golf season. Unfortunately, weather is preventing me from making the trip. Continue reading
It is Freakin’ Cold Outside!
Yesterday morning as I walked to my car, I heard an all too familiar sound of crisp cold snow crunching under my boots. The sound reminded me of the frost on grass late in the fall. The difference was that yesterday it was 28 degrees Celsius below zero! It was freakin’ cold.
Even though I was dressed in many layers (as good golfers do to stay warm) I could still feel the cold penetrating my clothing and the frost rising from my every breath. As I drove the 30 minutes to work, the ice fog eerily surrounded my car as I followed the black salt cover road in the darkness. Where do Golf Carts go for the Winter?
AW Come On!
It is 26 April and we woke up to this – SNOW!!!! Normally, I am pretty upbeat but really, come on, when is going to end! Well actually, it is over. The weather is shifting and we will be hitting double-digit highs next week. It really is about time!
This is most difficult time of the year for golfers. We wait patiently for spring and every day like today is another body blow. However, we are tough and we will take it without fear because we know the warm weather is around the corner.
I have heard the rumors and stories of when the courses in the area are going to open and I can hardly wait. I am very confident the driving ranges will be open next week and golf season will officially begin. So goodbye snow and move over for the warm sunshine of spring.
I am a grateful golfer. See you on the links!
