If anyone is wondering why Rory McIlroy is considered the world’s best golfer, I suggest you take a look at these shots!

The real question on all the golfing pundits mind is whether Rory McIlroy will have the staying power to remain atop of the golfing world!

There appears to be many flash in the pan players who on any day can win a golf tournament. Plus the competition from all the young guns like Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson is amazing. For now, he is the best, or is he? What do you think?

    Rory is certainly the most talented golfer in the world. His ability to carve up a field on a soft course (US Open at Congressional) or in windy conditions (PGA at Kiawah Island) demonstrates the complete package. If he shows he can manage the occasional distraction and improve his practice habits, he could dominate. I do agree with the dialog you and Aaron had about the strength of the field. It is stronger top to bottom than when Tiger was dominating. The big difference in Rory and Tiger (if I may make a comparison) is that Rory has yet to demonstrate the mental toughness to the level that Tiger had at his peak. We will enjoy watching his career unfold for the next decade.

  3. I think the last 5 years or so we have seen some incredible parity on tour. Yeah, I think Rory is best right now, but best right now isn’t what best in the world was a decade ago. I am not sure we will ever see someone do to the game what Tiger did and it may take some time for fans to lower the bar on expectations for next “best player in the world”. Personally, I like the idea that there are a handful of guys with shots at winning every time you get the top guys together.
