Using Visualizaton for Lower Golf Scores

Today I am trying something new! I have decided to use Brian Penn’s, from All About Golf,  technique of visualizing my round before I start. This is really not new for me, but I am expanding my normal process!

Brian mentioned the technique of writing my score down hole by hole for the entire round, before you play. It is something new for me and I think it is time to give it a try. Continue reading

“Putting Made Easy” Golf Drill

The attached drill is one that I use often. It is easy to set up and repeatable on any practice green. You can use alignment sticks, like in the video, tees, your TEECLAW, golf balls or your clubs. Actually, anything can be used as long as it provides reference points to ensure your putter head remains in guides.

I like this drill because it helps me with my alignment, moving my putter head in a consistent motion, and helps me gauge my preferred “back 6 forward 12” putting motion. I try to use this drill once every week or two as reminder of the basics I need to keep reinforcing. Over the years, this “Putting Made Easy” Golf Drill has helped lower my scores and strengthen my short game. Continue reading

I am a Grateful Golfer!

Not much going on today. I just wanted to wish you a fantastic May 24 weekend. Monday is a holiday in Canada, so Canadians are opening up their cottages after a long winters nap, starting their gardens, taking a little trip and of course golfing!

create a grateful golferI hope you have an awesome weekend and enjoy the wonderful weather with your friends and family.

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

The Positive Side of Golf!

A couple of days ago, I started my round as a single. As I approached the 7th tee, the twosome asked if I wanted to join them as the course was slow. Well, it was slow because of a twosome in front that were enjoying the day at the pace of a foursome….but that is a story for another day.

Of course I happily agreed and I very glad I did. I met up with Jimmy Leonard and Marcel Hetu. Both are retired Canadian Military were enjoying the time away from the service. We went through the usual niceties and talked about were we served, possible friends and what we were doing now. It was very pleasant.  Continue reading

Wildfire Golf Club

Today, I am playing Wildfire Golf Club! It is another awesome course in the area and through the generosity of a friend, I am hitting these outstanding links.

I played Wildfire once before and I am looking forward seeing if I can break 80 this time! I will be reporting on this awesome course in the near future, so as you read this article, I am either on my way or on the course reveling in its beauty. Continue reading
