The Swoosh Drill For Increased Club Head Speed
I am on the hunt for indoor golf drills. The next few months will be long and cold, but the quest to improve my golf game never stops. As stated previously, I will be working on my putting very soon and in addition, I have decided to look for other drills I can perform in my basement. Golf is About Economics
Golf is all about economics. Despite what any golfer thinks, if the golf industry is not making money, there will be no golf industry. Of course, the consumer (us) thinks they have a great deal of influence, yet I am not entirely sure this is true. Over the years I have read many articles about “rabbit hole” issues that are the symptoms of my opening statement, but if you peel away the layers like an onion, money is the at the core.
The issue of Jason Day’s comment that he plays golf to win and he will use whatever routine he needs to make that happen is at the forefront of the recent media hype on slow play. Considered one of the slowest players on the PGA Tour, Day can be extremely tiresome to watch. But yet, there we sit living vicariously through his long drives and smooth chips. Golf pundits have wailed on the PGA and European Tours for being ineffective to change this issue and still nothing really changes! Why, because the revenue gained from TV sponsors regardless of the pace of play outweighs the efforts needed to fix the slow play issue. It is all about economics.
It is Freakin’ Cold Outside!
Yesterday morning as I walked to my car, I heard an all too familiar sound of crisp cold snow crunching under my boots. The sound reminded me of the frost on grass late in the fall. The difference was that yesterday it was 28 degrees Celsius below zero! It was freakin’ cold.
Even though I was dressed in many layers (as good golfers do to stay warm) I could still feel the cold penetrating my clothing and the frost rising from my every breath. As I drove the 30 minutes to work, the ice fog eerily surrounded my car as I followed the black salt cover road in the darkness. Golfing at any time brings most golfers great happiness. It is an opportunity to walk and relish in the beauty of nature. This is true for me not matter when or where I am golfing.
