I just had to share this video of Phil Mickelson playing out of the sand. I am not ashamed to admit what I do not know and his points about sand condition reinforces what I thought!
In one minute, he explains how to play a sand shot in different sand conditions. Have a watch!
The one point he stresses that I have pointed out over and over is that our hands must keep going through until the finish of the swing. It is critical for a consistent and effective sand shot!
Do you play your sand shots this way?
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

A long time ago I was told by an old Canadian friend of my dad’s that bunker shots were the easiest shot there was. He showed me what to do and as luck would have it, my very first attempt (with a lob wedge I borrowed from my brother) dropped in the cup. Of course that seldom happens during the year, but I have never feared a bunker shot since that day (and my brother hasn’t let me touch his clubs again during a round either).
