Happy New Year – 2018

With 2017 behind us, it is time to look forward with hope and anticipation for 2018. 2017 had many ups and downs on and off the course. However, now is the start of something awesome.

I will create the year I want and will be grateful for all the blessings in my life.

I hope you and your special loved ones have a healthy and joyous new year in 2018!

Happy New Year!

  1. Jim, my clubs are still in the back of my Toyota, and I DO get some swings in with my Orange Whip each week. Even though that’s the closest I get to actually playing any golf these days, I know that at some point in the future, this game will move up the priority list yet again 🙂

I can’t wait to continue to read about your experiences and thoughts on this beautiful game. Happy new year.

  2. Happy New Year! I started the year off right by playing golf today. It wasn’t a great day for it, but I enjoyed it just the same. Temperature was just ok at 46F but there was a 17 mph wind out of the north so with the wind chill factor it felt like 39F and to add to the discomfort there was a light mist in the air. That made it a cold day for us wimpy Floridians but I played pretty well considering I was wearing 4 layers, two gloves, and jeans. (I said I was wimpy). I hit every fairway right in the middle except for three and only one of those found the rough by a few feet. The wedges mostly worked great today and I putted pretty well, though it took me a couple of holes to get the speed right. They were a bit slower than normal because of the mist and a dusting of fertilizer on the greens. The ball was green with it every time I pulled it from the hole. I finished in just under two hours (the course was almost empty) with a 79 which considering the conditions today was a fine score for me. The only bogies came on holes into the breeze and even then, I think it was more due to lies that weren’t great and misjudging the breeze more than bad swings.

I’d have stayed for more but there was rain scheduled for about an hour later and I wanted to get some groceries on the way home before it hit. I just looked at the clock, and I seemed to have managed the round trip to the course and grocery store, put everything away and sat down to relax again in 4 hours. That’s how you start off a year right in the south.

That is an awesome way to start your New Year! Your game sounds like it is ready for whatever 2018 throws its way. I on the other hand went snowshoeing. It was on -20 F and we too wore many layers. Thanks for the update!
