I am hitting the course for the third time this year. My tee off is a bit later in the morning to allow for the temperature to rise. It is going to be a great time, but I do not have my usual plan in place before I tee it up. It is very early in the season and I am still evaluating my physical conditioning before I dive head first into a training plan. I have done this before, but I generally like to have some direction for each round that fits into a large scheme to improve.
I am sure many of you are thinking that I am crazy for wanting to establish some sort of intention before playing. However, as an amateur, this helps me stay focused on various aspects of my swing and course management. It is this approached that results in my best scores and greatest improvement.
Now, not having a specific plan from time to time is not that big a deal. However, it just feels funny aimlessly playing golf. I am not ready to aggressively pursue anything because I am not sure what I can do physically. I still need to find this out.
Funny, after writing this I guess I do have a plan for today. I am evaluating my physical condition. That is something. The last two rounds were at complete opposite ends of the physical spectrum. After the first round I was exhausted. After the second round, I was feeling fairly strong. So, I am really curious what today will bring.
There you go, after all this I talked myself in a big ole circle. Well regardless, I am playing golf today and I am excited to see where my game is physically.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
Jim, great plan. Take it easy my friend. You’ve been through a lot and there’s no need to rush it. Has your other nine opened up yet?

No, we had more rain yesterday. Lots of flooding in the region, but thankfully not on the course. I think early next week, but it is day to day. How are your courses?

Jim, our courses are in fine shape. Most did their spring aeration in March/early April and it’s prime growing season now. I’m just struggling to keep up with my lawn and am mowing it twice per week. Usually slows down a bit when the weather really heats up at the end of the month.
I’m on a three week break from golf for family obligations and vacation. should be back at it the third week of May.
Play well!

Brian, the break will not hurt your game considering the length of your season. Have an awesome time with your family on your vacation.

It will be 88℉ out tomorrow. Perfect weather for long drives. But since Canada is too far, I think I’ll play here. lol
