The Open Starts in Two Days – Are you Ready?

The last Major of the year starts in two days. I am excited to see how players will respond to playing at The Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. “The Dunluce Links will provide a stern test of golf for the best players in the world. Originally designed by Harry Colt, the course is routed through the rugged links land and constantly changes in both direction and elevation.” (The Open) The real question most golfing pundits are asking: “Who is going to step up and take the Claret Jug?”

I will providing my predictions tomorrow. It is going to be a challenge to select that one special player who will step up and hold back the thundering horde. Make no mistake, there will be a player could it be:

The Open is my second favour Major next to the Masters. However, it is so close that in any given year the positions can flip. David Feherty sums it up very well:

The Open week is upon us and I am ready for all the action. There will be some cries of elation and moans of sorrow; regardless of where you stand the action will be exciting. Are you ready?

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!

  1. Well it won’t be me. But I’ll be watching every minute of it. Rory and Graham have the home field advantage, but Koepka’s caddy grew up playing the course too. I watched a few video’s of the course today and it looks awesome and really punitive if you mishit anything. It’s long too but not so long that it won’t give the shorter hitters a chance at 7317 yards. If the weather isn’t too bad, it should be a grate week of golf.
